Although the early nylon ropes are better than natural fiber ropes, they are very hard and cause a lot of friction. They are very inconvenient to use because of their good elasticity. The nylon ropes were gradually replaced by woven nylon ropes, which are synthetic fiber ropes specially designed for climbing.
Modern braided nylon rope is divided into a core thread and a rope sheath. The core thread in the middle is parallel or braided nylon thread, which provides most of the tensile strength and cushioning effect. The outer layer is covered with a smooth woven nylon rope sheath, the main function is to protect the core of the rope. The braided nylon rope retains the characteristics of the nylon rope and removes the shortcomings of the nylon rope-roughness, excessive friction, and good elasticity.
