1. Choose according to the rigidity requirements of the rope
Compared with traditional synthetic fibers, modern synthetic fibers have lower elastic elongation and higher modulus. Therefore, when considering cable extension performance, care should be taken to ensure that the selected product is compatible with the application field.
Generally, a cable with a higher elongation will undergo a certain displacement under a given load, which will absorb energy to a certain extent. In contrast, cables with lower elongation have greater displacement limits under a given load.
2. Tightness, structure and wear resistance
The tightness of the rope is a characteristic determined by the type of structure. Tighter cables generally provide longer service life, and cables with loose or loose structures are prone to jam and wear quickly.
Generally speaking, a loosely structured rope has a higher breaking strength than a similar rope that is strong and maintains its shape, because the fibers can be aligned more effectively along the axis of the rope, but a relatively loose rope is stronger than a tighter rope.
