Climbing rope is a kind of sports equipment. There are three types: single rope, double rope and half rope. Single rope is by far the most common rope, mainly used for sports climbing and traditional rock climbing. Due to their insufficient strength, double ropes and half ropes are usually designed to be used in pairs.
Maintenance method of climbing rope
1. Wash and dry
Generally speaking, the rope should be cleaned frequently with warm water and mild soap. The rope can be washed by hand in the bath tub or washed with a drum washing machine. It can also be rinsed in clean water several times and then dried, but not directly exposed to the sun.
2. Avoid damage
The wear caused by hiking shoes stepping on the rope is the most common type, because doing so will step on the sharp fine particles into the rope skin. Over time, these small particles will continue to cut the nylon fibers of the rope like a knife, thereby damaging the core of the rope.
3. Storage
The rope must be completely dry during storage. Untie the knot and store the rope in a dry place, away from sunlight, chemicals, etc.
4. Replace the old with the new
Always check whether the rope is worn or soft. This is because there are many factors that affect the condition of the rope, including frequency of use, maintenance methods, how many drops it has withstood, and the age of the rope.
